Gachagua Breaks Ranks: DP Blames NIS for Misleading Ruto

NAIROBI, Kenya — Gachagua Breaks Ranks: DP Blames NIS for Misleading Ruto, the political landscape within the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) coalition has officially fractured after Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua issued a stunning public indictment of government intelligence agencies during an unscheduled press briefing.

In a move that has caught State House completely off guard, the Deputy President openly distanced himself from the presidency’s current stance on national unrest, claiming that senior security advisers are actively misleading President William Ruto.

The explosive remarks mark the deepest visible division within the executive since the administration took office.

“Flawed Intelligence to Blame”

Addressing reporters, a visibly agitated Gachagua claimed that the National Intelligence Service (NIS) completely failed to accurately gauge and report the depths of public dissatisfaction across the country.

“The President is being fed distorted briefs by individuals out to protect their bureaucratic positions,” Gachagua stated, specifically pointing fingers at top security chiefs. He argued that instead of addressing genuine economic grievances raised by the public, security organs have resorted to scapegoating political leaders and branding citizens as criminals.

The Deputy President further stated that he would not sit back and watch state agencies disconnect the presidency from the reality on the ground, effectively positioning himself as a defender of the public’s right to be heard.

State House Caught Off Guard

The public rebellion has reportedly sent shockwaves through State House, with communication teams and close allies of President Ruto scrambling to manage the fallout. Privately, administration insiders view Gachagua’s briefing as an unforgivable breach of collective cabinet responsibility and an open political declaration of war.

Political analysts argue that Gachagua is strategically maneuvering to insulate himself from the immense public backlash currently directed at the executive. By shifting the blame onto intelligence assets and advisers, the DP is attempting to secure his political survival ahead of a highly unpredictable political cycle.

With the ruling coalition now effectively split down the middle, Kenya enters uncharted political territory as the two highest offices in the land openly spar over the direction of the nation. newsportal.co.ke
